Jharkhand Police is truly a young police force. I say this not only because the state and therefore its police force is still less than ten years old. I have a more valid reason- in the last 3-4 years Jharkhand has recruited and trained more than
25 thousand personnel who are naturally young, full of zeal and willing the weather the tough challenge that policing in Jharkhand embodies. When there is youth, there is eternal hope and optimism. Jharkhand Police as body of men and women universally shares this optimism and is confident that it is truly on its way to making itself a FORCE TO RECKON WITH.
We in Jharkhand Police sincerely believe that the taxpaying public deserves to know the facts and details about the police that are meant to serve it. I am a firm believer in the saying that good policing is the foremost visible sign of good governance. At the same time I am convinced that only good, responsible, law abiding and involved citizenship can ensure good policing because there is much truth in the adage that a society gets the policing it deserves. Indeed good policing cannot be a one legged race in which the police is the prosecutor, judge and the jury at the same time. Often in our society citizens show full awareness of their rights but show scant regard for their duties as citizens. I have a lot of hope that the people of Jharkhand will extend full cooperation and directly and indirectly involve themselves in making average policing better and better policing the best.
The various articles in this website offer clear insights and information into the efforts Jharkhand Police is putting in day in and day out to improve the quality of policing on all fronts. Efforts to modernize the forces, improving the infrastructure in districts and police stations, enhancing the welfare component in internal police administration, providing world class technology to improve day to day patrolling and preventive policing, getting the latest gadgets for improving police communication and reach in the remotest areas and finally conduct of community policing exercises on a large scale- all these are ultimately aimed at providing the best possible services and accessibility to our ultimate clients- the public. I hereby promise that the Jharkhand Police will keep striving for improved service delivery to its citizens. There are definitely some teething problems but we will continue in our endeavour to become a truly citizen friendly police for which we seek your active cooperation.
