Love, peace, humanity and brotherhood are the basic sentiments of human b e i n g s . Some elements in the society need to be taught these basic sentiments for peaceful co-existence and prosperity of society and nation and in achievment of this objective police plays a major role. Hazaribag district is full of nature and it has got a mixture of all communities and religions.

Hazaribag is a very old district and Superintendents of Police were posted
here since 09-05-1931. Historical places and those of tourist importance situated in this district were: Rajrappa temple, Maa Bhadrakali temple, National Park, Hazaribag etc. The old Hazaribag district consisted of present Hazaribag, Ramgarh, Koderma, Giridih and Chatra districts. The present Hazaribag district is full of natural forests and hills consisting of 13 Blocks and 17 Police Stations/O.P.s. The district has got a history of communal riots and important festivals like Ramnavmi and Muharam are celebrated carrying strong communal sentiments.

The District Police has achieved significant successes in the last two years
against naxals & criminals. Hazaribag Police have been quite successful in
stemming the naxal tide. District has got many successful encounters against naxals and neutralised topmost cadres of naxals. We have arrested almost 100 naxalite leaders and have also seized a number of arms & ammunitions and relevant documents. Zonal commander Arjun yadav alias doctor, sub zonal commander Niranjan Manjhi, area commander Nitish, military wing platoon commander Kailu manjhi alias parvez da all of north chota nagapur zone were killed in successful counters by the Hazaribag police. Police recovered 4 S.L.R rifles ,2 INSAS rifles , six .303 rifles , 5 stun guns , one Italian pistol and many country made weapons along with ammunition and levy money were recovered in the naxal operations and counters. In these operations our own police brothers have also lost their lives and they will be remembered forever for their supreme sacrifice. Their families are taken care of by the government and are provided by all compensations.

Many community policing measures like free medical check-up camps in most backward rural areas have been organized many times. Apart from this blankets have been distributed to the poor and we have organised sports tournaments in rural areas. Many unemployed youth have been given training in driving for their self employment and Training for recruitment in Para military Forces and Army has been provided. 55 youths got selected in Army in Hazaribagh. Nukkar Nataks performed against extremism and pamphlets are circulated among people against naxalism to create awareness among people. Community policing program involves creation of favourable impressions about the police in the community. The emphasis is not on just "looking good" but necessarily on "being good". For a police department, this means good community service.
