Koderma is one of the districts where the district police has managed to not only withstand the onslaught of extremism but has actually pushed it back. The success story is centered around constitution of Village Defence Parties in the police station areas of Markacho P.S. and Domchanch O.P. These Village Defence Parties comprise of one to four villages grouped together and have been given the name of Eklabya Task Force (ETF). They have achieved remarkable success in eliminating and sanitizing the area from extremist presence and influence. They have been given all moral and possible logistic support by the police which also includes setting up strategic pickets. There are at present 23 Eklabya Task Force units working in these areas. For the past one year, not a single case of naxal violence has been reported from Koderma district. I would like to assure you that the district police would make all the efforts to provide you a safe and secure environment. At the same time I would request you to please call us whenever you are in need of any assistance. We would be just happy to assist you and would sincerely try to solve your problems. I further urge upon you to please share with us if you have any information about any crime or criminal.We would work upon such information immediately, of course without bringing you into picture, and try to ensure that our society does not suffer from any such evil design.

ANTI-CRIME MEASURES: - During the past one year Koderma police has recorded many successes against professional criminals and particularly against kidnapping gangs.Koderma police has also effectively curbed the menace of highway robbery and dacoity in the district which is apparent from the figures given above.

There are at present 23 Eklabya Task Force units working in these areas. In the year 2007, not a single case of naxal violence has been reported from Koderma district.

In Koderma district work under community policing is being done by way of meetings with the public and distribution of blankets, Solar Lamps, torch, etc. at different places of the district.
