The crime figure clearly shows that the naxal crime has declined in last three year from 16 in 2005 to 13 in 2007.  Same is  the case for Property offences also. As the case of decoity reported in 2005 was 11 and Robbery was 30 respectively. In 2007 reported cases in decoity and loot are 10 and 25 respectively.  Even though in recent year, the number of miscellaneous cases has risen.

Lohardaga is a “A” grade highly naxal infested  district . Four of its five police stations are fully naxal affected and the rest Lohardaga police station is partially affected one. The fully affected police stations are Kuru, Bhandra, Kisko and Senha . The major naxal outfits are C.P.I.( Maoist), TPC, SJMM and JLT.   JLT is a  fresh Stake holders. All the above mentioned naxal outfits are mainly interested in extorting the bauxite mining and transportation industry.
To combat the naxal menace , the police in Lohardaga is employing all the lawful and needful tactics . At present all the five police stations and other establishments  are undergoing the process of fortification and  strengthening . The available force has been trained and strengthened to take into the naxal outfits. The bauxite mining areas have been provided with ample foce for safe mining . At present  1 Coy. Of CRPF, 01 Coy of STF, 01 Coy JAP and DAP has been stationed in different establishment in this district . The police personnel  are  regularly being trained for better performance. The number of P.S. are five and pickets are six apart from a Mahila Ps. .

During last year sustained effort of police has lead  to fewer incidence of naxalism in  this district. The effort of consistent LRP, Raids , intelligence has proved to be of great help. The method  of community policing has also helped in this step. All the securities and safety guidelines of police(Hqr.) is strictly being followed. It is pertinent to mention here that Lohardaga has lost one SP Sri Ajay Kumar Singh, IPS in anti naxal operation.

The Sustained effort of Lohardaga Police has led into great achievements in naxal an other criminal cases. The achievements has been charted out below :

In Community Policing:-Community Policing is one of the corner stone of this district. Important Work under taken are :-

(a)Creation of welfare fund for truck driver and cleaners.

(b)Distribution of household materials, books, Sports goods, Track suits,   
winter wear, blankets to needy and poor people of far flung areas. 

(c)Organization of sports and other cultural events especially State level  
football and taekwando events.

(d)Conduction of Janta Darbar in far flung and remote areas.

(e)Saheed Ajay Kr. Singh Trust has been formed for the benefits of the     
people of Lohardaga in the field of education and social work.

(f)Adoption of villages :-  A noble program has been initiated to adopt a    village at every level of police officers in this district.  Niche Bagru has been adopted by me in this noble exercise. This exercise has been under taken to lure away the villagers from the clutches of naxals.
