History

This institution, established in 1912 is located in Hazaribag town, spread over in an area of about 17 acres. Its buildings are located at different places in the town. Main building, Class rooms, I.E.D. Model Room, Maps and Planning Room, Simulation Room, Forensic Science Lab., Computer Class Room, SATS room, Library, M.T. workshop and Stable are all located in one campus, which is on the northern side of Hazaribag-Bagodar road, while the parade ground is located on the southern side of the road. Mess No. 1, which is meant for the gazetted officers of and above the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police is located in one campus which is about half a kilometre away from the main building. Mess No. 2, in which officers of the rank of A.S.I. upto Inspectors stay, is about two furlongs from the main building. Literate constables, who come for the promotion course to the rank of ASI also stay in this mess subject to the availability of accommodation, otherwise they are made to stay in the barracks of Shri Krishna Arakshi Bal Vidyalaya which is located at about half a km from the main building. Residential accommodations are also located at different places.

Survey of the existing buildings would reveal that the main building, which is more than 125 years old, is not suitable to meet our requirements.

It is worthwhile to mention that a new Administrative Complex for the P.T.C. - "JHARKHAND POLICE ACADEMY" has come up by the side of the National Highway, a little away from the Circuit House, which can accommodate the administrative wing, class rooms, room for the members of the faculty, library, computer room, etc. cafeteria and auditorium have also been partially constructed. The construction of this building was undertaken by the Bihar Police Building Construction Corporation and the work was being executed through N.B.C.C. The N.B.C.C. has stopped the work mid way on the ground of non-availability of funds
